A deciduous, spiny shrub to 3m tall, green and strong angled. It grows at a very fast rate. The leaves are reduced to spines and scales on older plants which make it inpenetrateable. The flowers are yellow pea type and concentrated near branch tips. It prefers disturbed sites.
